how do I apply for the DSA?

The easiest way to apply for DSA is to contact the Disability Officer at your place of study.  They are useful sources of information and can help you to complete the relevant paperwork and guide you through the necessary steps.

If you can’t find your Disability Officer, or for some reason you don’t wish anybody at your place of study to know about your disability, your first port of call should be your LA.  Many LAs have a specific person or team that deals with all DSA applications - you can call them and ask them to guide you through the process.

Alternatively, the government-published “Bridging the Gap” provides detailed information on how to apply. For more details click here (You will need Adobe PDF reader to view this file - you can get it for free by clicking here)
